Lovejoy Village Market

In 2019 we were inspired to create a place our neighborhood desperately needed, a local grocery store with affordable prices to serve our tight knit community.  At the time, residents were unable to purchase healthy foods in the area without paying high convenience prices.  We saw this as something we could change by opening the Lovejoy Village Market. 

We immediately established the Lovejoy Village Market as our primary goal, and had lots of help along the way from the Lovejoy Village Association board & volunteers, donors and business partners.  After identifying a location at 1212 E Lovejoy Street, Buffalo NY to be the future site of the market, renovations and updates were needed to turn the market into something special.  Volunteers donated their time, businesses and donors contributed their funds & expertise, while establishing relationships with the Toronto Blue Jays organization allowed us to run concession stands at their home games hosted in Buffalo during 2021 to raise capital.

In July 2021, the grand opening of the Lovejoy Village Market was a great success.  The market now offers a number of local vendors’ products, delicious prepared foods, healthy food options and even desserts!   If you would like to learn more about the Lovejoy Village Market, please visit the market’s website.
